Saha has played domestic cricket for Bengal for a long time.
Former Indian cricket team captain and Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) chief Sourav Ganguly has asked veteran Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha to play his farewell match for Bengal. Recently, a meeting took place between the two, in which Ganguly made a special request to Saha.
It is worth noting that in the year 2022, Wriddhiman Saha has quit playing domestic cricket for Bengal due to some dispute with CAB officials. After this, he was seen playing for Tripura in domestic cricket. However, now Saha is going to say goodbye to his cricket career which has lasted more than a decade, so Ganguly has made a special request to him.
Jayanta Dey gave the information
Let us tell you that regarding Saha playing a farewell match for Bengal, Tripura Cricket Association’s Joint Secretary Jayanta Dey, quoted by NDTV, said – Ganguly wants Saha to retire after playing at least one last match for Bengal.
Saha has told me this, but he has not yet sought an NOC (no objection certificate) from Tripura. Before Saha, we have recently given an NOC to Sudip Chatterjee who is ready to return to Bengal, but Saha has not yet applied for it.
Also, if media reports are to be believed, Saha may be seen playing his last match in the upcoming Bengal Pro T20 franchise. Let us tell you that the draft process for this tournament has been completed, and if everything goes well, Saha can be seen playing for Siliguri Strikers.
On the other hand, if we talk about Saha’s cricket career, he has played 9 ODIs and 40 Test matches for the Indian cricket team, in which he has scored 41 and 1353 runs respectively. Apart from this, the experienced wicketkeeper batsman has scored a total of 7013 runs in 136 first class matches with the help of 14 centuries and 43 half-centuries.
