BAN vs SA: South Africa has announced its 15-man squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh today, September 30. Let us tell you that this tour of South Africa was hanging in the balance some time ago due to political instability in Bangladesh, but recently the green signal has been received from Cricket South Africa (CSA) regarding this tour.
The two-match Test series will begin with the first match to be held in Dhaka on October 21. After this the second test match will be played in Chattogram. The command of the South African team has been handed over to Temba Bavuma. Keeping in mind the subcontinent conditions, South Africa has included three spinners in the team.
Cricket South Africa has brought back left-arm spinner Muthusamy, who played three Test matches, who will be the Proteas’ third leading spinner along with Keshav Maharaj and Dane Piedt on the Bangladesh tour. At the time of team announcement, South African coach Shukri Conrad was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz-
I would firstly like to thank both the boards, Cricket South Africa and Bangladesh Cricket Board, who ensured that this series went ahead. Bangladesh is always a difficult place to visit.
They have become a strong team on home soil and we have to be ready for the challenge that awaits us. So, we have chosen a team for the conditions we expect to welcome us when we get there.
