Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Saturday, March 30 confirmed that Sri Lanka’s T20 captain Wanindu Hasaranga will be ruled out of the entire Indian Premier League (IPL) season due to a left heel injury, according to Sri Lankan website Newswire. Confirming Hasaranga’s absence, SLC CEO Ashley De Silva told the Sunday Times newspaper, “He is not taking part in the IPL as he needs some rehab after visiting a podiatrist.”

D’Silva further said, “Hasaranga’s heel is swollen and he is playing with injections. Therefore, he has decided to fully heal this injury before the World Cup and has informed us about his decision to skip the IPL this year.” All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga will travel to Dubai to seek expert advice regarding his heel problem.
