Sri Lanka was all out for 42 in the first innings of the first test against South Africa.
The first match of the two-match Test series between South Africa and Sri Lanka (SA vs SL) is being played in Durban from 27 November. After losing the toss and batting first, the host team was all out for 191 in the first innings. Captain Temba Bavuma played a brilliant inning of 70 runs in 117 balls.
On the other hand, the Sri Lankan team was all out for 42 runs in 13.5 overs in the first innings, which is the team’s lowest total in Test cricket. Also, this is the second lowest total made by any team in the World Test Championship. At number one is the Indian team, which was all out for 36 against Australia in Adelaide in 2020.
In the first innings of the first Test against South Africa in Durban, five Sri Lankan batsmen returned to the pavilion on duck and Kamindu Mendis (13) and Lahiru Kumara (10) were the only two batsmen who scored double digit scores. South African pacer Marco Jansen bowled stormily and took 7 wickets.
