Virat Kohli came to bat at number three in this match after a long time. After the early dismissal of Team India captain Rohit Sharma, fans had high expectations from Virat Kohli. Everyone believed that today a big innings would be seen from him on his IPL home ground, but after facing 9 balls, Kohli returned to the pavilion without opening the account. This poor form of Virat is becoming a matter of concern for Team India in Test cricket. Virat Kohli batted at number three in place of Shubman Gill. Shubman Gill has not been included in the playing eleven of the Bengaluru Test match. Due to being unfit, he could not play in this match. For this reason, Virat Kohli batted at number three in his place. Virat Kohli batted at number three in Test cricket after eight years. Before this, he last played at number three in 2016. This time when he came to bat at number three, he returned to the pavilion without opening the account on the ball of William O’Rourke. After this flop performance of Virat Kohli, a surprising figure has come to light. Batting at number three in Test matches, he has scored runs at an average of only 16.16 in seven innings. His highest score during this period has been 41 runs. Looking at these figures it is clear that Virat Kohli is not that successful at number three but despite this he was sent to this position in the Bangalore Test match. He had returned to the pavilion on zero against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium 32 innings ago and now once again he has been out on a duck against the Kiwi team.
