There are also many reports about MS Dhoni’s retirement after IPL 2024, but no official announcement has been made. Dhoni himself has indicated that his playing future in the league depends on the upcoming IPL rules and regulations, especially the rule related to retained players.

While talking to Sports Tak, Suresh Raina said, I want MS Dhoni to play in IPL 2025. I am saying this keeping in mind his batting in the last season. I think Ruturaj Gaikwad needs another year to learn captaincy, the way he captained and a lot of things were said after the defeat to RCB. However, Ruturaj has performed brilliantly.

Earlier this month, at an event in Hyderabad, Dhoni had said that he would take a decision on his IPL career after the announcement of the new rules. Fans also want Dhoni to participate in the IPL this time too. On the other hand, if we talk about Suresh Raina, he will be seen playing in the Legends League Cricket 2024, in which he will lead the Urbanrisers Hyderabad. The tournament is starting from September 20. The event will see a title battle between six teams.

In the last IPL season, Dhoni played a vital role as a finisher, scoring 161 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 220.55. Despite CSK finishing fifth, his performance is a testament to his skill and leadership.
