Suryakumar Yadav reaches number two in ICC’s latest T20I rankings.
ICC has released the new T20I rankings amid the T20 World Cup 2024. This time the rankings have seen a lot of upheaval. India’s Suryakumar Yadav, who has been at the number one position for a long time, has now reached number two in the latest rankings. Australia’s Travis Head has become the number one batsman in T20. England’s Phil Salt, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have also suffered losses.
In the new T20 rankings released by the ICC, Australia’s Travis Head has become the number one batsman. This time he has jumped 4 places at once. Now Travis Head’s rating has become 844. Travis Head was not even in the top 10 till some time ago, but now he has reached the top. India’s Suryakumar Yadav has moved to second place.
Apart from Suryakumar Yadav, these batsmen also suffered losses in the T20I rankings
Surya’s rating is currently 842. That means there is only a difference of two rating points between the first and second ranked batsman. In such a situation, if Suryakumar Yadav has to reach number one again, then he will have to play a big innings in the upcoming matches.
Only Suryakumar Yadav along with England’s Phil Salt has lost one place. His rating is now 816. Pakistan’s Babar Azam has also come down one place. He has reached the fourth position with a rating of 755. Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan has now reached number 5 with a rating of 746. He has also come down one place.
Meanwhile, Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has dropped three spots after a brief spell at number one following impressive performances against Oman (67* off 36, 3/19 in 3 overs) and Scotland (59 off 29). Sri Lanka T20I captain Wanindu Hasaranga has regained the top spot after taking six wickets in three innings during Sri Lanka’s campaign at the T20 World Cup.
