After failing in his Test debut, Suryakumar Yadav once again wants to return to red-ball cricket for India.
Suryakumar Yadav will be seen playing for Mumbai under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Khan in the Buchi Babu Tournament 2024. Surya made his Test debut for India during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in February 2023. On his debut, he was able to score only 8 runs in 20 balls, after which he was injured and ruled out of the series.
After failing in Test debut, Suryakumar Yadav wants to return to red-ball cricket for India once again. He has recently expressed his desire to play all three formats for India, and said that the Buchi Babu tournament will help him for the red-ball tournament.

Suryakumar Yadav while talking to Times of India said,
I want to play all three formats for India. Playing in Buchi Babu will give me good practice for the red ball tournaments this season.
Mumbai team’s chief selector Sanjay Patil has also expressed happiness over Suryakumar Yadav joining the team. He said,
Surya just called me to tell me that he wants to play in the Buchi Babu tournament, and will be available from the second match (TNCA XI at the same venue from August 27-30). Which player like him wouldn’t want to play for them? It’s a huge boost for Mumbai and I’m very happy with his move.
