T20 World Cup is starting from June 1 this year
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024: The International Cricket Council has given information about the changes in the upcoming T20 World Cup matches. Let us tell you that cricket fans came to know about this after the tickets of the tournament went live on Thursday, February 1.
It is noteworthy that this time the 9th season of the multinational tournament is going to start from June 1, 2024. The first match will be played on June 1 between USA and Canada at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
ICC gave information about schedule change
So, along with giving information about tickets, ICC has also informed the cricket fans about the schedule change in the two semi-final matches of the tournament. According to the new schedule, the first semi-final match of the tournament, which was scheduled to be held on June 27 at Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinad and Tobago, will now be played on June 26, while June 27 has been kept as the reserve day.
So the second semi-final match of the tournament, which was to be played on June 26 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, will now be played on June 27, while June 28 has been kept as the reserve day. ICC has changed the schedule so that the teams reaching the semi-finals get time to reach their destination easily.
Apart from this, ICC has also given information about the timing of all the matches except the final match to be held on June 29 at Kinston Oval in Barbados. So, India will start its campaign in the tournament with the match against Ireland on June 5.
This match will be played between India and Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. All India matches will start at 8 pm Indian time. So the much awaited match between India and Pakistan will be played in New York on Sunday, June 9.
