After winning the toss, Team India batted first and scored 176 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Virat Kohli played the highest innings of 76 runs for the team.

IND vs SA: India lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay

Batting first against South Africa, Team India got off to a very bad start. Rohit Sharma (4) and Rishabh Pant were out on a duck in the second over of the innings bowled by Keshav Maharaj. After which Kagiso Rabada tightened the screws on Suryakumar Yadav in the fifth over.

Kohli scored 76 runs in 59 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. He also shared a 57-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Shivam Dubey. Shivam Dubey scored 27 runs in 16 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six. Hardik Pandya (5*) and Ravindra Jadeja (2) scored runs.

Keshav Maharaj and Nortje took 2-2 wickets

Anrich Nortje bowled a wonderful spell for South Africa, he took two wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs. Keshav Maharaj also took two wickets for 23 runs in 3 overs. Apart from these, Marco Jensen and Kagiso Rabada took 1 wicket each.
