Former player Nayan Mongia believes that Pakistan team captain Babar Azam should not be compared to Virat Kohli at all because he is nowhere near the former Indian captain. Not only this, according to Nayan Mongia, the captain of the Pakistan team will be under a lot of pressure in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match against India.

Let us tell you, an important match is to be played between India and Pakistan on June 9 in New York. This match is very important for both the teams. While India won by 8 wickets against Ireland in their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan had to face defeat against America in their first match. Pakistan’s performance was disappointing in this match. According to the former Indian player, it is very wrong to compare between Babar and Kohli.

Nayan Mongia said, ‘Babar Azam’s batting has seen a decline in the last few years. He has appeared out of form. Babar is putting a lot of pressure on himself. He feels that now only he can score big for Pakistan. If Babar takes such pressure, then it will not support him and his team at all and all the batsmen will be mentally under pressure.’

The former Indian wicketkeeper further said, ‘There is pressure on Babar that he is the best batsman in the world. He is being compared to Virat Kohli but Babar Azam is not even near him. This is the reason why there is constant pressure on the captain of the Pakistan team. If Babar Azam scores big then everything is fine but if he gets out then the pressure will completely come on the team’s batting lineup.’

Nayan Mongia put forward his view on the Pakistan team

Nayan Mongia further said, ‘In West Indies, fast bowlers have taken wickets and spinners have also done their job well. However, fast bowlers will be on top here. As a batsman, you have to perform well. If both the teams are compared, Indian batsmen have more skill. I always feel that Pakistan’s skill is very less on this wicket.

So I don’t have much expectations from Pakistan’s batting. India’s batting skills are much better. They know how to play a good innings and make a big score. You can’t hit fours and sixes continuously, you have to play defensive cricket sometimes.

Finn praised him a lot and even said that he is the best player in the world. Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33).
