T20 World Cup 2024: David Miller came in between Netherlands and victory, South Africa won the important match

In the exciting match of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 played today i.e. on 8th June, South Africa defeated Netherlands by four wickets in New York. In this match, experienced batsmen David Miller and Tristan Stubbs from South Africa batted brilliantly and played an important role in their team’s victory.

Batting first against South Africa, Netherlands scored 103 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Sybrand Engelbrecht batted very well for the team and played a valuable innings of 40 runs in 45 balls with the help of two fours and a six. Engelbrecht was the highest run scorer for Netherlands. Logan van Beek played a brilliant innings of 23 runs. Apart from these two players, no other batsman could cross the 20-run mark.

Vikramjit Singh scored 12 runs while captain Scott Edwards returned to the pavilion on a personal score of 10 runs. All the bowlers from South Africa did their job well. South Africa lost four important wickets for 12 runs.

However, after this, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs batted very well and made an important partnership of 65 runs for the fifth wicket. There will definitely be opportunities somewhere. Right now my focus is only on improving my fitness and giving 100 percent when I come out on the field. Shardul finally said that, in the first one or two matches, I was feeling a little hesitant while starting, but as I kept playing matches after the surgery, my confidence gradually increased. Now I have achieved 100 percent fitness and it is reflected in my bowling. In the last three or four matches, I have been bowling in full rhythm. However, some catches have been dropped, hence the wickets are not visible on the board, if those catches had been taken I would have had around 20 wickets. But it’s a part of the game.
