In the exciting match of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 played today i.e. on 8th June, South Africa defeated Netherlands by four wickets in New York. In this match, experienced batsmen David Miller and Tristan Stubbs from South Africa batted brilliantly and played an important role in their team’s victory.

Batting first against South Africa, Netherlands scored 103 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Sybrand Engelbrecht batted very well for the team and played a valuable innings of 40 runs in 45 balls with the help of two fours and a six. Engelbrecht was the highest run scorer for Netherlands. Logan van Beek played a brilliant innings of 23 runs. Apart from these two players, no other batsman could cross the 20-run mark.

Vikramjit Singh scored 12 runs while captain Scott Edwards returned to the pavilion on a personal score of 10 runs. All the bowlers from South Africa did their job well. However, after this, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs batted very well and made an important partnership of 65 runs for the fifth wicket. Bumrah took 8 wickets in both the innings of that Test match and for this he was chosen Player of the Match. In the match, India achieved a spectacular victory within four days and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. After seeing the brilliant bowling in that match, former England cricket team fast bowler Steven Finn has praised Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the first Test match against Australia. Finn praised him a lot and even said that he is the best player in the world. Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33). During this period, he has taken five wicket hauls 7 times, which is equal to Kapil Dev. They are followed by BS Chandrashekhar and Zaheer Khan (six each), and Bishan Singh Bedi and Anil Kumble (five each).
