T20 World Cup 2024: India started the tournament with a bang, defeating Ireland


Indian team captain Rohit Sharma batted very well against Ireland and played a match winning inning of 52* runs in 37 balls with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes.

In the best match of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 played today i.e. on 5th June, India defeated Ireland by 8 wickets. In this match, all the players from India performed very well and played an important role in the victory of their team. In this match, Ireland batted very poorly and the team was all out for 96 runs. No batsman of Ireland could cross the 30 run mark.

Let us tell you, the worst thing with Ireland was that the team kept losing its wickets at regular intervals. Ireland captain Paul Stirling was out after scoring two runs while Andrew Balbirnie scored five runs. Harry Tector batted very poorly and returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 runs.

Gareth Delany scored the most runs for Ireland. He played a valuable innings of 26 runs in 14 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Apart from Delany, no other batsman could score big for Ireland. Joshua Little contributed 14 runs while Curtis Campher played an innings of 12 runs.

There will definitely be opportunities somewhere. Right now my focus is only on improving my fitness and giving 100 percent when I come out on the field. Shardul finally said that, in the first one or two matches, I was feeling a little hesitant while starting, but as I kept playing matches after the surgery, my confidence gradually increased. Now I have achieved 100 percent fitness and it is reflected in my bowling. In the last three or four matches, I have been bowling in full rhythm. However, some catches have been dropped, hence the wickets are not visible on the board, if those catches had been taken I would have had around 20 wickets. But it’s a part of the game.
