3 bowlers who bowled the ball at the highest speed of 150kph+ in IPL history

Many young batsmen and bowlers have made their mark and earned wealth and fame through this league. In this 17 year long IPL history, there have been many bowlers who have impressed everyone with their pace. Many players have bowled at speeds in excess of 150 kmph. In this article, we will discuss about three such players who have bowled at a speed of 150+ most times. 1. Mayank Yadav Mayank Yadav (Image Credit- Twitter X) Lucknow Super Giants have discovered a very talented young bowler this season, whose name is Mayank Yadav. He did not play in LSG’s opening match this season, but he got a chance in the playing eleven against Punjab Kings. He came to bowl the middle overs and surprised Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow with his pace. Mayank Yadav gave back-to-back blows to Punjab in the form of Beysto, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma. Against Punjab, he bowled the ball at a speed of 155.8 kph. After this, he broke his own record against Bengaluru and bowled the ball at a speed of 156.7 kph. Mayank bowled consistently at 150+ kmph and took the valuable wickets of Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green. He was adjudged Player of the Match in two consecutive matches in the IPL. 2. Umran Malik Umran Malik (Photo Source: X/Twitter) Second in this list is Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Umran Malik, who comes from Jammu and Kashmir. Umran is also known for consistently bowling at speeds of 150+ km/hr. He has bowled the ball at a speed of 154+ kph thrice in IPL. He has achieved the feat of throwing the ball at the fastest speed of 157 km/hour. Apart from this, he has bowled at the speed of 155.7 kph and 154.8kph. However, he has proved quite expensive on many occasions due to his poor length. Seeing his speed, Umran Malik got a chance to represent the Indian team. He made his debut in T20 International and ODI in 2022. Malik has played 8 T20 Internationals and 10 ODI matches so far. 3. He has bowled the ball at a speed of 154 km/hr in IPL. Apart from this, he has bowled at speeds of 153.9kmph, 153.5kmph and 153.4kmph. Rabada not only bowls at fast pace but also has the ability to swing. He bowls dangerously in the death overs also. Kagiso Rabada has taken four wickets so far this season.
