But when the matter went to the third umpire, the third umpire declared it not out. This was because the umpire did not agree with the catch taken by Karunaratne that his finger was under the ball. By then the ball had touched the ground and hence it was not declared out. Talking about the match, Kandy Falcons lost the match by just 2 runs while chasing the target of 200 runs. Colombo Strikers bowled brilliantly and kept their opponents away from the target. Taskin Ahmed, Thisara Perera, and Shadab Khan took 1-1 wickets. Mathisha Pathirana took 4 wickets and also won the Player of the Match award for this brilliant spell. After this match, Colombo Strikers are in second place with 2 wins in 3 matches. On the other hand, Kandy Falcons team has won just 1 match out of 3 and is in fourth place in the points table.
