Rohit’s master plan is ready for T-20 World Cup, said- nothing yet…. Everything when the time comes…
BCCI recently announced Team India for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Since this T20 World Cup will be played in West Indies and USA and keeping in mind the pitches there, the team management has given more importance to spinners than pacers. The Indian teams announced for the T20 World Cup 2024 include four spinners and four pacers. Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja have been included in the spinners. At the same time, confidence has been expressed in Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya as pacers. Rohit Sharma was asked a question regarding this in the press conference. Rohit Sharma has also answered this in his own style. Rohit Sharma Said in the press conference, “I definitely wanted four spinners. We have played a lot of cricket in West Indies. We know the conditions and the match will start at 10-10.30 am. There is quite a bit of technical aspect involved. I am not going to tell the reason publicly right now. Want to field Hardik as a fast bowling all-rounder. Axar and Jadeja also bat well and Kuldeep and Chahal are aggressive spinners who give us good balance.” With the tournament starting amid uncertain pitch conditions, Sharma stressed the need for adaptability and flexibility in match strategy. They said that, “Don’t know how the pitch will be in America. We are playing in West Indies but at different venues. You also have to look at the combination of the opposition team. One thing we noticed was the middle-order hitting. Our top order hitting is okay, not that bad. We wanted someone to play this role freely in the middle overs, without worrying about who was bowling.”
