They defeated East Delhi Riders Women’s team by 7 wickets under DLS rule and confirmed their place in the final of this important tournament. This match was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Now the North Delhi Strikers team will clash against South Delhi Superstars women’s team in the final match on 8 September. East Delhi Riders team won the toss and decided to bat first and they scored 150 runs losing two wickets in 20 overs. The team started very well and scored 45 runs by the end of the powerplay. Pratika Rawal completed her half-century in 33 balls. Not only this, Priya Punia also played a half-century innings for her team by batting brilliantly. Priya Punia scored 63* runs in 59 balls in this match and put her team in a strong position. In reply, North Delhi Striker women’s team scored 26 runs without losing any wicket till the end of four overs. However, it started raining after that. Great initiative by BCCI, now North East cricketers are fully ready to leave their mark.
The indoor cricket academies will facilitate players from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim. Jay Shah (Pic Source-X) The Board of Control for Cricket in India has started a new initiative for the cricketers of North East states. To help cricket players, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today i.e. on 20th May laid the foundation stone of indoor cricket training academies in six states. This information was given by Jai Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India himself, on his official social media account. The indoor cricket academies will facilitate players from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim. These academies will be located in Shillong, Itanagar, Kohima, Aizawl, Imphal and Gangtok. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah wrote on ‘X’, ‘I am honored to lay the foundation stone of BCCI’s upcoming state-of-the-art indoor training facilities in the North-East. These 6 states are- Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim. With this, all the cricketers will be able to enjoy world class indoor nets, indoor swimming pool and fitness center. We all are very happy with this wonderful initiative of BCCI. We want that great players from North East should participate here and this will give more recognition to cricket. We are starting this with the launch of the new pavilion in Mizoram.
