“ICC is responsible for Pakistan’s exclusion from T20 World Cup 2024”- Rashid Latif’s shocking statement

Let us tell you that Pakistan got out of the group stage of T20 World Cup 2024 after the Ireland and USA match was canceled due to rain. Team India and USA have qualified for Super 8 from Group A. Pakistan team had lost to these two teams. After this the team was criticized a lot. Every former cricketer and cricket expert of Pakistan slammed Babar Azam and company. Meanwhile, former captain Rashid Latif has given a different statement. He has blamed the ICC for Pakistan’s exit from the group stage. He has supported the Pakistan team and targeted the International Cricket Council (ICC) saying that the conditions are not good for the World Cup. Rashid Latif blamed ICC for Pakistan’s defeat Speaking to Cricbuzz, Rashid Latif said, “You can’t blame the Pakistani players for everything. They performed well, but the pitch conditions neutralised their efforts. They should have won both the matches against the USA and India, but the circumstances were beyond their control. It has happened that scoring runs has become difficult. See, even a batsman like Virat Kohli is not able to score runs.” Latif further said that the ICC is responsible for Pakistan’s team not reaching the Super 8. He further said that the bad conditions are not only in America but also in the Caribbean countries. Latif said, individual half-centuries are not too many. No team has scored a half-century against a team like Afghanistan. If a batsman scores a half-century then the team mostly wins. Rishabh Pant scored 42 runs and India defeated Pakistan. The conditions are not ideal for the World Cup.

“There was some pain in his body, so the team management….”- Pakistan’s head coach said on the exclusion of Shaheen Afridi.

Pakistan had rested Shaheen Shah Afridi for the third and final Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The visiting team went with off-spinner Sajid Khan in place of the fast bowler. Shaheen took eight wickets at a good economy rate of 3.35 during the two matches in Perth and Melbourne. Meanwhile, Pakistan men’s team director and head coach Mohammad Hafeez said Shaheen was given a break to “manage his workload”. Shaheen had also said during the Sydney Test that the team management had decided to keep him out for the last match of the series. Mohammad Hafeez said on giving rest to Shaheen Afridi Mohammad Hafeez was quoted as saying by India Today, “Shaheen did not take any rest at all because of T20 cricket. There was some pain in his body. He was not feeling very comfortable. As a team director, I have to ensure that no player goes into that zone where he can get injured. “I gave myself enough time to recover before that zone.” Hafeez further said, “He has worked hard in the last one year after returning from injury and the workload on him is very high. We wanted to give him leave and manage his workload. I don’t know what happened earlier, but at this time, I wanted to ensure that no bowler’s career gets spoiled due to workload not being managed.” Let us tell you that Shaheen Afridi was made the captain of Pakistan’s T20 team in November and was given the vice-captaincy of the Test team just before the Perth Test. He will take command of the team for the first time in T20 on New Zealand tour. T20 series will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand from 12 to 21 January.
