(Photo by Alex Davidson/Getty Images) The 2-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to start on August 21. The second Test between the two teams is to be played at the National Stadium in Karachi. But let us tell you that this match will be played in an empty stadium as renovation work is going on to improve the venue for the 2025 Champions Trophy. This match between Bangladesh and Pakistan is scheduled to start on August 30 and will be part of the World Test Championship (WTC) program. Notably, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allocated Rs 17 billion for the renovation of stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi. The 2025 Champions Trophy is the first major tournament to be played in Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup and the first ICC event since the 1996 ODI World Cup. The PCB issued a statement on Wednesday, August 14, confirming that fans will not be able to watch the match in the stadium due to construction work in the complex. “In view of the ongoing construction work at the National Stadium as part of preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken the difficult decision to hold the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, scheduled from 30 August to 3 September, without spectators,” the PCB statement read. The statement further said, “We understand how important a role our passionate audience plays in cricket, providing inspiration and encouragement to our players. However, the health and safety of our fans is our top priority. After carefully considering all available options, we have decided that the safest way is to hold the second Test match in an empty stadium.” The press release also stated that fans who have already bought tickets for the contest will be refunded their money, while the sale of unsold seats will be suspended immediately. Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan will start from August 21 The upcoming red-ball assignment is crucial for Pakistan on multiple fronts. It is a great opportunity for the team to get back into the WTC race on home soil. It is also the first series for newly-appointed red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie, who is said to be a bit like Gautam Gambhir. It will also be the first time Shan Masood will lead his team on home soil after taking over the captaincy from Babar Azam.
“The bat may be fine but not our mental health”- Indian fans were heartbroken after seeing this post by Marnus Labuschagne
Labuschagne played an innings of 58 runs in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. Marnus Labuschagne Bat (Photo Source: Instagram) Even though Team India won the T20 World Cup title in June, fans and players have not yet forgotten the defeat in the ODI World Cup final played in November 2023. In that World Cup, India performed brilliantly throughout the tournament but lost to Australia in the final. In the ODI World Cup 2023, India made it to the finals by winning 10 consecutive matches. Australia won the trophy by defeating India by 6 wickets in the title match. India had given a target of 241. Apart from Travis Head, Marnel Labuschagne also played an important role in breaking the hearts of crores of Indian cricket fans. While Head (133 runs) scored a century in the final, Marnus Labuschagne (58 runs) played a half-century innings. Marnus Labuschagne ODI World Cup Final Bat Pic Went Viral Meanwhile, Labuschagne has once again broken the hearts of Indians by reminding them of the 2023 ODI World Cup final. One of his posts has suddenly refreshed the wounds of the fans. Actually, Labuschagne is thinking of retiring the bat with which he scored a half-century in the final. The condition of his bat is very bad. He wrote on Instagram on Monday, “Looks like it’s time to retire the World Cup final bat.” Seeing this post of Labuschagne, the old pain of many fans came out and they also gave their reactions on it. One user commented, “Brother, this post is still opening the wounds of Indians.” One said, “This bat will be fine but our mental health cannot be cured.” Another wrote, “Rohit Bhai should also retire his bat, with which he thrashed Australia and other teams in the T20 World Cup 2024.” Marnus Labuschagne got a lifeline in the ODI World Cup final It is worth noting that Labuschagne got a tremendous advantage of umpire’s call in the final. If India had got the support of the umpire, then perhaps the story of the final could have changed. Jasprit Bumrah trapped Labuschagne in front of the wicket in the 28th over of the innings. India appealed for LBW but umpire Richard Kettleborough rejected it. Rohit demanded a review which was finally declared as umpire’s call. In this way, Labuschagne got a lifeline and India was disappointed.

In the run chase, the team’s batting order has once again collapsed like a pack of cards. Chasing a target of 249 runs, India has lost 8 wickets at a score of 101 runs. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant’s wicketkeeping remains a topic of discussion on social media. Rishabh Pant showed poor wicketkeeping during Sri Lanka’s innings. Due to Rishabh’s mistake, India could not get the wicket of Mahish Teekshana. Rishabh Pant took more time to drop the bails The 49th over of Sri Lanka’s innings was bowled by Kuldeep Yadav. On the last ball of the over, Mahish Theekshana tried to play a shot by moving ahead of the crease, but he missed the ball. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant had a chance to stump Theekshana out because he had moved too far ahead of the crease. But Pant took too much time to drop the bails. The onfield umpire took the help of the third umpire. Mahish Teekshana thought he was out, and he was walking back to the pavilion even before the third umpire’s decision. Replays showed that Mahish Teekshana had returned to the crease before the stumping took place, so the third umpire declared Teekshana not out. See here the fans’ reactions on Rishabh Pant’s wicketkeeping- What the hell!!!! While sharing this video, Joginder wrote in the caption – Good to see you Mahi after a very long time. Also, after watching this video, fans have remembered the final match of the T20 World Cup. Watch the video shared by Joginder Sharma What happened in the final of T20 World Cup 2007 Chasing the target of 158 runs given by India, Pakistan needed 13 runs in the last over to win. Here the new captain of the team MS Dhoni had to decide who to give this over to between Joginder Sharma and Harbhajan Singh. Since Harbhajan was hit for three sixes by Misbah in the previous over, Dhoni decided to give the last over to Joginder. After this, Joginder’s plan was very simple that he had to keep the ball away from Misbah-ul-Haq who was on strike and bowl a wide sound yorker. However, the first ball of this last over was wide and the second ball was a dot. But after this when Joginder bowled the third ball to Misbah, it was a full toss and Misbah hit a great six on the ball. Pakistan needed 6 runs in 4 balls to win at this time, it seemed that Pakistan would win the match. But Dhoni kept talking to Joginder after every ball and repeatedly said that it was just a matter of one wicket. Then Joginder bowled the third ball slowly, on which Misbah got caught by Sreesanth while scooping and Team India won the first T20 World Cup by 5 runs.
