IND vs ENG: Time is running out very fast for Gill and Iyer – Aakash Chopra warns both the batsmen
Shubman and Shreyas flopped with the bat in the first innings of the second test. Shubman Gill, Aakash Chopda and Shreyas Iyer (Photo Source: Twitter) Former Team India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that if Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer do not play good innings in the second innings of the ongoing second Test against England, then their place in India’s Test team may be in danger. India scored 336/6 in their first innings at stumps on day one in Visakhapatnam on Friday, February 2. Gill and Iyer contributed 34 and 27 runs respectively, while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 179 runs. In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra said that Gill and Iyer will get just one more chance to save their places in the Test XI. Aakash Chopra warns Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer He said, “Time is running out very fast for Gill and Iyer. They have one more innings and I really hope they score runs because if their next innings is not good, it will be difficult for both of them to make a place in the team.” The former India opener believes that Gill had to struggle against James Anderson after a good start. They said that, “Shubhman Gill got a start. He played a little aggressively in the beginning, but after that, James Anderson hit three outside edges in two overs. The third edge also went to the keeper and he was out. He ruined a good start. 34 runs will not be enough to save a place in the team.” Regarding Shreyas Iyer Aakash Chopra Said, “Shreyas Iyer also had a disappointing performance. The way he was moving in the crease was not giving much confidence. You don’t usually see a batsman moving like this against a fast bowler in Test cricket. Despite the short balls not having much pace, he was moving a lot and eventually got out. You can say that the ball remained a little low and he was a little unlucky, but he was not stable at the crease.”
Ranji Trophy 2024: Experienced fast bowler returns to Delhi team, has played 100 tests for India
Veteran Indian cricketer Ishant Sharma is set to feature in Delhi’s upcoming clash against Baroda in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. Ahead of his return to the Indian team, Ishant has been focusing on red ball cricket and played for Delhi against Puducherry. However, he could not take advantage of the opportunity and the visiting team won by nine wickets. After a break of almost a month, the 35-year-old is ready to make a comeback and may get a chance to replace Prince Yadav in the playing eleven. He will lead the fast bowling unit along with Navdeep Saini and Himanshu Chauhan. Meanwhile, Ishant’s return will strengthen Delhi’s bowling line-up, which is going through a bad phase. Delhi team is currently at sixth position in the Elite Group D points table. However, their recent win over Uttarakhand should give them some confidence ahead of them in the upcoming fixtures. The team’s new captain Himmat Singh played a memorable inning of 194 runs in the last match, while Yash Dhull and Lakshya Thareja made important contributions in the first and second innings respectively. Saini, Hrithik Shaukeen and Himanshu Chauhan looked impressive in the bowling, which is another plus point for the team. The cold and humid weather in Delhi is expected to help the fast bowlers and Ishant’s experience here will come in handy for the team as he is used to playing in such conditions. The fast bowler will be desperate to prove his worth and get back into the national team, which is already loaded with quality fast bowlers. Meanwhile, the toss was delayed due to bad light. If the sun does not shine during the match and there is moisture under the pitch, then fast bowlers can get a lot of expectations from the pitch. However, it depends on when and if the game starts. There is also a possibility of rain on the third day of the match.

IND vs ENG: Jasprit Bumrah got a big blow, ICC took big action against the fast bowler
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been officially reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first Test match against England. Jasprit Bumrah. (Image Source: BCCI England defeated India by 28 runs in the first Test match played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. In this match, all the players from England performed very well and played an important role in the victory of their team. Talking about the Indian team, their performance in this match was quite disappointing. With this, Indian team’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has suffered another big blow. International Cricket Council has taken major action against Jasprit Bumrah. Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been officially reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first Test match against England. The ICC has given him one demerit point and reduced his match fee by 50%. Jasprit Bumrah was found to have breached Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which relates to inappropriate physical contact with a player, umpire, match referee or any other person. Actually, Jasprit Bumrah was bowling in the 81st over of England’s second innings. Jasprit Bumrah deliberately stepped into the path of Ollie Pope when he was going to take a run, causing inappropriate physical contact. This was Bumrah’s first mistake in 24 months so one demerit point has been added to his record. Jasprit Bumrah has accepted his mistake This allegation was made by on-field umpires Paul Riffel and Chris Gaffney, third umpire Marais Erasmus and fourth umpire Rohan Pandit. Level 1 violations usually carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 percent of the player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points. Bumrah has accepted his mistake so there is no need for any formal hearing on him. However, Jasprit Bumrah will now have to be serious about this and will not make such a mistake next time. Even though India lost the first test, the host would like to make a strong comeback in the second test. The second Test is starting from February 2 in Visakhapatnam.
