Franchises feel that there is a need for continuity in the team combination, so efforts should be made to retain a large part of the core team. The BCCI source also said that the franchises have also demanded to increase the current purse from Rs 90 crore to Rs 100 crore. Because BCCI now has big media rights. The BCCI source further said, ‘There will be some resistance as some franchises will want a larger pool of players in the auction to rebuild their teams.
