“Poor performance, will not make it to Super 8”- Wasim Akram fumed after Pakistan lost against USA

Former legendary Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram criticized the performance of the Pak team after their crushing defeat against the United States (USA) and claimed that Babar Azam and company will not be able to reach the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024. In this match played in Dallas, the Pak team lagged behind in all three departments of the game, due to which they had to face defeat in the end. Speaking to ESPNCricinfo after the loss, Akram termed the performance as ‘poor’ and claimed that he and the Pakistan fans were confident that they would win. The bowlers then praised USA for their performance and scoring 19 runs in the Super Over. Akram feels that Pakistan might struggle to reach the next round of the tournament as they have to play against India and two other good teams. Wasim Akram strongly criticized Pakistan’s defeat Akram said, “Pathetic performance. Winning and losing is part of the game. But you have to fight till the last ball. It was bad for Pakistan cricket. He said, “Pakistan will have to struggle to qualify for the Super Eight from here, as they have to play against India (on June 9) and two more good teams (Ireland and Canada).” There itself USA Praising the team, Wasim Akram said, “In the second innings, they (USA) came out to chase the target. I mean scoring 19 runs in the super over is like scoring 36 runs in the super over. He said, “Well done USA.” Akram praised USA captain Monank Patel for bowling and scoring a match-winning half-century. The former Pak bowler further said, “The most special moment of the day for me was the innings of USA captain Monank Patel, the way he batted…moved his bat forward. He said, “The way he used his suit, that is, led from the front. His fielding was excellent every time and USA played very good cricket.”
