Teams have the opportunity to choose an additional bowler and batsman as per their requirement. But many big players have given their opinion regarding this rule. From Virat to Rohit Sharma, everyone has given their reaction. In this series, now Team India and Rajasthan Royals’ veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has given his opinion on this rule. Ashwin is not happy with the impact player rule. He has said that in the coming times, bowlers will have to become hitters. Player of the match Ravichandran Ashwin spoke about the Impact Player rule on JioCinema’s Match Center Live show and said, “If there was no Impact Player rule, the scores would have been the same.” On the Impact Player rule, Ashwin further said, “In my opinion, the batsmen have more confidence and the pitches have been standardized everywhere. In the future, all bowlers will need to be hitters, because we know that no matter how well we bowl, we need to be able to bat as well. This game is moving in that direction.” R Ashwin gave a big statement regarding his bowling in IPL 2024 Regarding his bowling, Ashwin said that the first half was not good for him because he came to play IPL 2024 after playing a Test series. His body was not feeling fresh. Ashwin said on his bowling, “My tournament was divided into two parts. The first part was after the Test series, so my body was not feeling fresh. My arm speed was not good and I was also injured. I played despite the injury, but I didn’t get much or frequent bowling time. I am someone who depends on repetition of bowling. In the last 6-7 matches, I feel my rhythm has come back. I am capable of bowling off spin. I made a slight change in my action. My plan was simple. I came in focused on changing the line and length of my balls and executed it well.”
