In the second innings, the spinner tightened the screws on India-D’s batting order and took 7 wickets for 49 runs in 19.1 overs, he also bowled 7 maiden overs. Manav Suthar also won the Player of the Match title by playing brilliantly for India-C. Meanwhile, the spinner has given a big statement by giving credit for his brilliant performance to Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Speaking to the Indian Express, Manav Suthar said, To get wickets, I have to first stop them. That’s what I did. After the first innings, I thought I had to slow down a bit to get some turn, which would help with the bounce. Every pitch is different, so how you use your skills matters. In the first innings of the match against India-D, India-C’s fast bowlers, Anshul Kamboj, Vijay Kumar Vaishak and Himanshu Chauhan took 7 wickets. Whereas spinners Manav Suthar and Hrithik Shokin were able to take only 1-1 wickets. Suthar further said, Just because the fast bowlers were taking wickets, I can’t say there isn’t much help for the spinners. So I was trusting my skills, and I believed I could do it here. I have seen Ashwin and Jaddu bhai playing- Suthar Manav Suthar further revealed that he learned a lot from the bowling styles of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. The young spin-allrounder has focused on getting help from the seam rather than the pitch. He took his 500th Test wicket by dismissing Jack Crawley after the tea break. He has become the second Indian after Anil Kumble (619) to achieve this feat. In response to India’s 445 runs, thanks to the century of opener Ben Duckett, England has scored 207 runs at the loss of 2 wickets by the end of the day’s play. Duckett is present at the crease after scoring 133 runs and Joe Root has scored 9 runs. The visiting team is still 238 runs behind India’s score.
