We played well in the T20 series too- Jayasuriya Sri Lanka had to face a 0-3 defeat in the T20 series against India. But the team made a strong comeback in the ODI series and kept the pressure on Team India right from the first match. Sanath Jayasuriya further said, The boys have gone through a very tough time. We played well during the T20 series as well, but the result was not what was expected. When we came back to Colombo, the players realised what went wrong and started playing well. Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was ruled out due to injury during the first ODI. After which the team’s problems seemed to be increasing. But Jeffrey Vandersay replaced Hasaranga in the next two matches and played brilliantly. Jeffrey Vandersay took 6 wickets in the second ODI.
