Green has said that he is currently getting a special diet from the special chef of RCB, due to which he is able to balance his cricket and personal life. Sometimes there are limited options for diet. Considering my physical condition, I have to take care of salt and protein. I have to do this very little, but because of the necessity of the game of cricket, I need it more. So, it is a bit challenging, but I want to be able to perform on the field. Besides, I also have to think about long term problems. Green further said- I am ready to do it and the people of RCB are helping me unreal in this. I have contacted the chef here and got my special diet. I spoke to him directly and asked him what I really wanted. I need a diet that has enough protein, and also allows me to perform well on the field while playing cricket. I like this franchise a lot because they are taking care of me very beautifully. The 24-year-old revealed that his illness has made him hold the team back at times, and he has felt guilty on many occasions. In December 2023, it was revealed that Cameron Green had been suffering from this serious kidney disease since childhood. During a conversation with Channel 7, the youngster had said that his condition is in the second stage and needs to be taken good care of to prevent it from progressing rapidly. Speaking during an interaction organized by RCB, Green on several occasions asked himself why this was happening to him. He said on this- Sometimes you have to put the team behind you – Cameron Green “You get quite emotional because it feels like it’s all against you. Like, why is this happening now? No one else is being affected by this. You feel a little guilty, that you have to hold the team back a little. Sometimes it becomes quite emotional.” “It is challenging sometimes, especially in India, sometimes, there are limited options to eat. Because of my condition, I have to take care of my salt and protein. I have to keep it under control during cricket. I can increase my salt intake a bit while playing cricket because obviously, I need to play cricket.” Since his international debut in 2020, Green has been seen as the future of the Australian team and has played impressive innings across all three formats. Recently, he scored 174 runs against New Zealand in Wellington to lead Australia to a comprehensive Test win.
