Roach played his last Test match for West Indies against Australia at the Gabba in January at the beginning of the year. So now he will be seen playing in a two-match Test series against South Africa on Caribbean soil from August 7. The command of the West Indies cricket team against South Africa has been handed over to Craig Brathwaite, while wicketkeeper Joshua de Silva has been appointed the vice-captain of the team for the first time. In this Test series, regular vice-captain of the Test team Alzari Joseph has been rested, who had an average performance in the three-match Test series on the recent tour of England. Not only Joseph but the performance of the entire Caribbean team was disappointing on the England tour. England defeated West Indies 3-0 in a one-sided manner in the three-match home Test series. However, now forgetting this defeat, the Caribbean team will look to perform better in the two-match Test series against South Africa.
