Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s first task after becoming the all-format captain is the home multi-format series against Sri Lanka. Nazmul Hussain Shanto has previously captained Bangladesh in 2 Tests, 6 ODIs and 3 T20 matches. During the World Cup 2023, when Shakib Al Hasan was out due to injury, Shanto took command of the team. Before the start of the multi-format series against Sri Lanka, Najmul Hossain Shanto has talked about the challenges of captaincy. Nazmul Hussain Shanto further said, ‘We are performing well in ODIs, but as a team we have not won any big tournament yet, so we want to move forward with a plan on how we can do well in big tournaments. Shanto further said that now his responsibility as captain has increased, hence he needs to show more ability in batting.
