And Gary Kirsten’s resignation comes just days after he became captain. It is being told that Kirsten was not happy with many decisions of PCB and for this reason he tendered his resignation. Talking about Pakistan team, they are touring Australia for the white ball series in November. Where the Pakistan team will play an ODI series of three matches and a T20 series of the same number of matches. The 50-over series will be contested on 4, 8 and 10 November in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. After the ODI series, both the teams will play T20 matches in Brisbane, Sydney and Hobart on 14, 16 and 18 November respectively.

Today, big news is coming out from Pakistan Cricket that PCB has appointed its Election Commissioner Shah Khawar as its new interim chief on Wednesday 24 January. PCB COO Salmar Naseer, directors and other staff welcomed Shah Khawar after assuming charge at the cricket board’s headquarters. Shah Khawar will now take charge till the PCB elections, which are scheduled to be held within a month. My primary responsibility will be to conduct the election of PCB Chairman in a free and transparent manner as soon as possible. Let us tell you that in 2021, no PCB Chief has completed his tenure since Ehsan Mani. Rameez Raja served for 15 months (September 2021 – December 22), while Najam Sethi (December 2022 – June 2023) and Zaka Ashraf (July 2023 – January 2024) also served for less than a year. A period of change is going on in Pakistan cricket after the ODI World Cup. Babar Azam stepped down from captaincy in all three formats. After which Shan Masood has been made the captain of Test and Shaheen Shah Afridi of T-20 team, but they have not got success.
