T20 World Cup 2024: ICC gives “Unsatisfactory” rating to New York and Trinidad pitches

The ICC has released the pitch ratings on Tuesday (August 20). The pitch of Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York and Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad has been given an “Unsatisfactory” rating. ICC gave “Unsatisfactory” rating to the pitches of these two matches played in New York In the T20 World Cup 2024, 8 matches were played at the Nassau Cricket Stadium in New York. The ICC has termed the pitches of the Sri Lanka vs South Africa and India vs Ireland matches as “Unsatisfactory”. Let us tell you, both these matches were the first matches to be played at the venue. The team had to face challenging conditions in both the matches. Sri Lanka’s team was all out for 77 runs against South Africa. Whereas, Ireland’s team was able to score only 96 runs against India. Due to uneven bounce in the pitch, many players got injured, including Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Ireland’s Harry Tractor. ICC gave ‘Satisfactory’ rating to the pitch of India vs Pakistan match The match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 was played in New York on 9 June. In that match, India was all out for 119 runs. Chasing the target, Pakistan’s team was able to score only 113 runs and India won by 6 runs. ICC has given ‘Satisfactory’ rating to both the pitch and outfield. The pitch of the semi-final match played at Brian Lara Stadium got “Unsatisfactory” rating The first semi-final match of the tournament was played between Afghanistan and South Africa at Brian Lara Cricket Stadium, Trinidad on 26 June. Due to South Africa’s excellent bowling, Afghanistan’s team was all out for 56 runs in 12 overs. This is the lowest total in the history of T20 World Cup semi-finals. The South African team then chased the target in just 8.5 overs and won. After the match, Afghanistan’s head coach Jonathan Trott had strongly criticized the pitch.
