IPL 2024: BCCI brought technology to end the full toss controversy, know how it will work?

BCCI brought technology to end the full toss controversy, know how it will work? No-ball (Photo Source: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come up with a new technology to fix the problem of height-related no-ball calls during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Over the years, teams have suffered losses due to errors in decision making by umpires. Although they are human and sometimes make mistakes unknowingly, but sometimes some decisions prove to be disappointing for the teams. This happens only when the decision is not in their favor in difficult circumstances. One of the most controversial umpire calls in the IPL is giving a no-ball to a ball that comes above the height. The leg umpire checks the height of the full toss and if the ball is above the batsman’s waist it is considered a no-ball. In case of any doubt, the third umpire is referred to for decision making. Over the past few years, some of the umpires’ decisions regarding waist-high no-balls have created quite an uproar. What earnest money has come from BCCI? Times of India quoted a source as saying, “There are people in the BCCI team who are measuring the height up to the waist of all the players in the IPL with a measuring tape. This data will then be fed into a system used by hawk-eyed operators, who sit alongside the third umpire (from this season) to judge waist-high fulltoss ball reviews. “This data will help us better judge the waist-high full toss for a particular batsman.” This year BCCI has introduced some new rules to make IPL 2024 even more interesting. The introduction of the ‘Smart Replay System’ has made decision making faster, more efficient and more accurate. This is a new camera-based review system where eight high-speed Hawk-Eye cameras have been installed around the stadium. Additionally, two Hawk-Eye cameras will be deployed with the TV umpires to provide real-time footage and data for accurate analysis.

Gujarat won this match by 8 runs. Talking about the match, Gujarat, while batting, scored 152 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to a half-century innings by Beth Mooney. In reply, UP Warriors could score only 144 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 8 runs. With this victory, Gujarat has kept itself alive in the race for the playoffs. Talking about the match, Gujarat won the toss and decided to bat first. The team’s openers Laura Waldwort and Beth Mooney gave a great start to the team. Both added 60 runs for the first wicket. After the dismissal of Waldwort (43), Gujarat team started losing wickets continuously, seeing which captain Beth Mooney started playing cautiously. While on one end the Gujarat team was continuously losing wickets, on the other hand Beth Mooney was continuously trying to score runs. This was the reason that despite getting a good start, Gujarat team could score only 156 runs even after batting 20 overs. Beth Mooney was the highest run scorer for the team with 74 not out from 52 balls. Talking about bowling, the most successful bowlers for UP were Sophie Ecclestone (3/38) and Deepti Sharma (2/22). Deepti Sharma’s half-century innings went in vain Talking about run chase, UP Warriors did not have a good start while chasing the target of 153 runs. By the time the score was just 35, half the team had returned to the pavilion. From here it seemed that Gujarat Giants would register a one-sided victory. But after this Deepti Sharma and Poonam Khemnar together took charge of the innings. There was a partnership of 109* runs between the two for the sixth wicket but this partnership could not bring victory to the team. For UP, Deepti Sharma scored unbeaten 88 runs in 60 balls but it was not enough to lead the team to victory. Apart from them, Poonam Khemnar remained unbeaten after scoring 36 runs in 36 balls. Talking about Gujarat’s bowling, Shabnam Shakeel was the most successful bowler from their side. He took three wickets for 11 runs in his four over spell. Apart from them, Katherine Bryce and Ashley Gardner got one wicket each.

I did a lot of homework and watched Grace (Harris) play against the turn. I thought if I could pull the length of the ball backwards then I might get an edge or it might be bowled. ‘T20 approach does not work in Ranji Trophy’ Sachin Baby gave a big statement regarding success in first class cricket

After not getting much opportunities in IPL, Sachin Baby has been performing continuously for Kerala in Ranji Trophy. Sachin Baby. (Photo Source: Instagram) Sachin Baby, who plays domestic cricket for Kerala, is performing well in the domestic cricket tournament Ranji Trophy despite losing in the glamor of IPL. Let us tell you that 35 year old Sachin has scored 830 runs in 7 matches played in the ongoing Ranji Trophy and he is the second highest run scorer in the tournament so far. So Sachin Baby performed brilliantly during the entire season. However, his team Kerala failed to make it to the quarter-finals. On the other hand, now Sachin has given a big statement by taking inspiration from former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth’s attitude of making a comeback after the ban. Sachin Baby gave a big statement Let us tell you that in an interview given to Times of India, Sachin said – Sreesanth played cricket at the highest level. Unfortunately he was banned for a few years. After this he returned to first class cricket at the age of 39 and performed well before retiring. Sri Sanka’s never-say-die attitude has been a great inspiration for me. Sachin further said- I know that cricket is changing at this time. But your T20 approach will not work in Ranji Trophy. This may happen once or twice, but when you play 10 innings in a season, you may fail 8 times because of this approach. Our batsmen should learn the importance of biding time on the wicket. The best example of this is Akshay Chandran. He changed his approach and scored valuable runs for his team. Also, let us tell you that Sachin, who made his IPL debut in 2013, has been able to play only 19 IPL matches, in which he has scored 144 runs. So the last time he was seen in IPL was in the year 2021.

I had to work very hard to get to where I am now: Heinrich Klaasen

Klaasen scored 447 runs at a strike-rate of 207.90 in SA20 Season-2. Heinrich Klassen The last few months have been great for Heinrich Klaasen. He has shown tremendous batting performance in the recently concluded second season of SA20. He was named SA20 Player of the Season and Batsman of the Season. His performance in SA20 Season-1 was also exceptional. Let us tell you that before going to the Indian Premier League, Klaasen scored a brilliant century in Season 1. Even in IPL, he scored a brilliant century for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Klaasen demonstrated his ability in all conditions and scored another century in The Hundred. Klaasen was not going to stop here either. Last year, he prepared for the ODI World Cup by playing a brilliant inning of 174 runs in 83 balls against Australia in India, after which he played an inning of 109 runs in 67 balls against England in Mumbai. Klaasen’s brilliant play continued in SA20 Season 2 as well. Where he scored 447 runs at a strike-rate of 207.90. At the same time, Klaasen also hit a record breaking 37 sixes. Clasen’s success is definitely due to his hard work. It’s a bit disappointing – Heinrich Klaasen Speaking on his performance, Klaasen said, the swing has been good in the last few years. I think better decision making and execution has helped me. It helps when you execute the right plan in your mind. It took me a lot of hard work to get to where I am now but I am also in a good place mentally. On DSG missing out on a maiden SA20 title, Klaasen said: “It’s good to perform, but it’s only meaningful if your team wins, otherwise performing means nothing to me.” It’s a bit disappointing, but there are more important things in life than winning trophies. It has been a good tournament, our guys performed brilliantly, but the better team won that day.

IND vs ENG: “I felt the work was not done yet” – Gill gave a big statement regarding his century celebration

Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century in the second innings of the Visakhapatnam test match. Shubman Gill (Image Credit- Instagram) Team India’s star batsman Shubman Gill gave a sensational performance in the second test of the current series against England. The 24-year-old Gill was facing severe criticism from critics due to his poor form. However, Gill once again displayed his class and scored 104 runs in 147 balls and gave a befitting reply to all the critics. Thanks to the same innings of Gill, India set a target of 399 runs for England to win. Due to his poor form, his place in the Test team was also in danger. Gill had not scored more than fifty in 12 innings, but finally completed his century after a poor run of form. However, seeing the way Gill celebrated after this century, it seemed that he was feeling more relief than happiness with this innings. I was thinking one ball at a time – Shubman Gill talking to the press Shubhman Gill said that, “I felt the job was not done. So it was a quiet celebration. I was thinking one ball at a time, obviously a lot was happening in and around the crease, a few wickets fell, then me and Shreyas did well. Partnership and decided that if the ball is there to be hit, we will hit, otherwise we will keep trying to rotate the strike.” Furthermore, Shubman Gill said that the support he received from captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid helped him a lot to get back in good mood and score his third Test century. Gill said, “The support I got from Rohit bhai and Dravid sir was fantastic and also from the batting coach…he has always inspired me.” Let us tell you that, chasing the target of 399 runs to win the second test, England scored 194 runs at the loss of six wickets till the lunch break of the fourth day. England still needs 205 runs to win.

What is the condition of PCB! Now even local coaches do not want to work together.

Misbah-ul-Haq has expressed deep concern over the frequent changes in the management and coaching staff of PCB. Misbah-ul-Haq. (Image Source: Getty Images) Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has expressed deep concern over the frequent changes in the management and coaching staff of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He has strongly criticized the PCB for sacking coaches and players on the basis of results. Let us tell you that after disappointing performance in Asia Cup and ODI World Cup, Babar Azam stepped down from captaincy in all three formats. Changes were also seen in the coaching staff. Earlier, former team director Mickey Arthur has already told that players often give priority to ensuring their place in the team more than performance. Now there are indications that Arthur may return as team director again. Misbah, who held the charge as head coach and chief selector from 2019 to 2021, has criticized the PCB for its tendency to change staff frequently. This is a slap on our cricket system- Misbah Ul Haq Misbah was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, if you look at the policies of the board, leave alone foreign coaches, I don’t think even our local coaches want to work with the PCB. Pakistan cricket should not be run in such a disorganized manner and we need to make long term plans to groom the team management, selectors and players. Unfortunately in Pakistan everything changes with a change in board leadership. He said that, we also have to look at the systems of some other countries which are successful. Why not, I think you can choose the best captain as per the needs of the format. If a player is free for, say, two months, then why should he not be allowed to go to the league and earn money, but yes, giving permission to the players before the World Cup was a big mistake. Misbah said, it is a slap on our cricket system that we are not able to find a high-profile full time coach. It is a shame that the best people do not want to come and we are insisting on bringing someone who is looking at Pakistan as another option.
