ICC Chief Executive issued a statement On the other hand, on the shift of the multi-nation tournament from Bangladesh to UAE, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said in a statement – It is a shame that Bangladesh is not hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup because we know that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) would have planned a memorable event. Geoff Allardice further said- I would like to thank the BCB team for exploring all avenues to try and enable this event to be held in Bangladesh, but travel advice from the governments of several participating teams meant this was not possible. However, they (BCB) will retain the hosting rights. We look forward to taking the ICC global event to Bangladesh in the near future. On the other hand, the UAE, which is also the headquarters of the ICC, has emerged as a huge hub of cricket in recent times.
