Yusuf Pathan is going to debut on the political pitch, will contest Lok Sabha elections from this party
During this time, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee had led the rally for the upcoming elections. Abhishek Banerjee had expressed hope that around six to eight lakh supporters and many block level leaders from different districts would be present in this program. Banerjee believed that the turnout of supporters would help in energizing the atmosphere and laying the groundwork for a spirited election campaign. Yusuf Pathan has a deep association with Kolkata, he was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 3.25 crore through the ‘Right to Match’ option during the 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. He has played for both the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals franchises in the IPL. On May 24, 2014, he scored the second fastest 50 in the IPL, and registered his name in the pages of history by achieving this feat in 15 balls. Pathan’s fireworks took Kolkata Knight Riders to second place in the points table and helped the team win the title that season.
