Team India has to play a three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka from July 27. For this series, the Indian team under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav will reach Sri Lanka today. After the three-match T20 International series, an ODI International series of the same number of matches will also be played, where Rohit Sharma will be the captain of the team. Head coach Gautam Gambhir, support coaching staff and players included in the T20 squad will reach Sri Lanka today.

While the players participating in the ODI series will reach Sri Lanka after a few days. The ODI series is to be played from August 2. Before Team India left for Sri Lanka, head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar held a press conference in Mumbai and during this time answered many questions related to squad selection.

Team India players took flight from Mumbai to go to Sri Lanka

The Indian team caught a flight from Mumbai to Sri Lanka today. Hardik Pandya was also seen at Mumbai airport. Hardik was the vice-captain of the team in the T20 World Cup 2024 and it was believed that he would get the captaincy after Rohit’s retirement from T20 International, however this did not happen. Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the new T20 captain of Team India.

This is Surya’s first tour as a full-time T20 captain. Earlier, he has captained Team India in the T20 format in the home series against Australia and on the South Africa tour. Apart from Hardik and Surya, Shubman Gill and Ravi Bishnoi were also seen at the airport. Gautam Gambhir was also seen in the team bus with the players.
