Many former and current cricketers have criticized Cricket South Africa for preferring SA20 over Test cricket. Regarding this, Chopra has said that the Test cricketer is now in ICU and has been kept on ventilator. He also criticized Pakistan for leaving out Shaheen Afridi from the third Test against Australia to manage his workload ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting in early June and the T20 World Cup.
Aakash Chopra gave a surprising statement regarding test format
In a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said, “Test cricket is currently in the ICU and has been put on a ventilator. First of all, there are a handful of teams playing Test cricket and even among them there are only three teams left that can afford to play Test cricket. South Africa announced its B team against New Zealand. The reason is that SA20 is about to start, it is their domestic T20 tournament.”
Aakash Chopra further said, “Two Test matches of the WTC cycle have come this time. He said let’s leave the Test match and they will play in SA20, from (Aiden) Markram to (Kagiso) Rabada, everyone should be available there (SA20) and the rest of the kids can play Test cricket.”
Aakash Chopra was surprised to see that Pakistan decided to give Shaheen Afridi a break after losing the first two matches of the series. The former Delhi batsman said that it had never happened that any Asian country had dropped its leading bowler from the team in Australia. I am seeing this for the first time.
