Australia beat England in the first T20

Talking about the match, Australia batted first and scored 179 runs losing all wickets in 19.3 overs. Matthew Short played an innings of 41 runs for the team while Travis Head scored 59 runs in 23 balls with the help of 8 fours and 4 sixes. Both these players added 86 runs in six overs for the first wicket.

Captain Mitchell Marsh failed to play a big innings and was dismissed after scoring two runs. Wicketkeeper batsman Josh English contributed 37 runs. For England, Jofra Archer took two wickets for 31 runs in 3.3 overs while Saqib Mahmood took 2 wickets for 21 runs in three overs. Liam Livingstone took three wickets.

In reply, the host was all out for 151 runs. Liam Livingstone scored 37 runs for the team while captain Phil Salt was out after scoring 20 runs. Sam Curran contributed 18 runs. Sean Abbott took three wickets for Australia while Josh Hazlewood and Adam Jampa took two wickets each.
