According to a report in the Times of India, the seventh grader boy travelled a distance of 115 kms using his pocket money. The young fan’s only request was that he meet his cricketing idol and that Sourav Ganguly should convince his father that his son is very good at cricket and wants to become a successful cricketer in the future.

Sourav Ganguly told Times of India on July 10 through his personal assistant, “I came to know about his little adventure and I would like to meet him.”

Adrish Haldar’s father Shibram Haldar told Times of India, ‘My son is a big fan of Sourav Ganguly. He left the house without telling me. This happened on Monday. We searched for him a lot but could not find him. After this, we filed a report against him in Kotulpur police station. I am thankful to Behala police and traffic guard that they reunited me with my son.’

A senior official told the Times of India, ‘We saw the love for Sourav Ganguly in the eyes of that little child and we respect it. We saw the report against him and sent this report to the office. Ganguly has said that as soon as he returns home at the end of this month, he will definitely meet those children once.’
