The first T20 match between India and Sri Lanka will be played on July 27
Team India is ready to tour Sri Lanka from July 27. A three-match ODI series will be played along with a three-match T20 series on this tour. Team India has already been announced for the white ball series against Sri Lanka. Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed the captain of the T20I team, while Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in the ODI series.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20 Internationals after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title. Therefore, both will not be seen playing in the T20 series against Sri Lanka. But both these batsmen are included in the list of highest run scorers in T20I against Sri Lanka. While Rohit Sharma has scored 411 runs in 19 matches and is in first place, Shikhar Dhawan is at number two, who has scored 375 runs in 12 matches.
Virat Kohli is in third place with 339 runs in 8 matches. KL Rahul (301) and Shreyas Iyer (296) are in fourth and fifth positions respectively. However, interestingly, none of these batsmen will be available for the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka.
