After the defeat against England, Namibia’s star player David Wije has announced his retirement. The match against England was his last international match. In his last international match, he played a stormy innings of 27 runs in 12 balls at a strike rate of 225. However, he could not make the team win in his last match.
On David Wije’s retirement, Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus said, “He did not want to open. But this is his last game. It is good to see him batting. He is a nice person. We have learned a lot from him off the field and he has been an inspiration to us. I am disappointed at not qualifying for the Super-8.”
