The ICC has announced that the final of the upcoming WTC Final (2023-25) will be played at Lord’s ground this time.
There is bad news for cricket lovers who watch test matches at Lord’s Cricket Ground, known as the ‘Home of Cricket’. Marylon Cricket Club (MCC), the organization that operates Lord’s Cricket Ground, has announced an increase in ticket rates for matches to be held at the stadium for the upcoming summer season 2025.
So, after the increase in the ticket rates in the stadium, this decision of the organization is being severely criticized, because before this MCC had also increased the ticket rates of the test matches to be held on the ground against Sri Lanka and West Indies.
But instead of benefiting from this, MCC suffered a loss because only 9 thousand people came to watch the match against Sri Lanka, which was less than one-third of the total capacity of the ground.
However, the MCC has increased the ticket rates for the upcoming WTC final and the match to be held here during India’s tour of England next year. The organization believes that India’s tour after the Ashes series is an important tour, due to which this decision has been taken.
There was a jump in the new ticket rates
Let us tell you that during India’s tour of England, MCC has fixed the minimum ticket price for the match to be held at Lord’s Cricket Ground at 90 Euros, which is being criticized a lot. At the same time, the price of tickets for the main stands at the ground is between 120 Euros and 175 Euros.
Apart from this, MCC has also increased the ticket price for the final match of the ongoing season of the World Test Championship (WTC) here. The price of tickets for the WTC final to be held at Lord’s has been fixed from 70 euros (6530 rupees) to 130 euros (12130 rupees). However, MCC Chief Secretary Guy Lavender has said in a recent statement that the organization is going to re-evaluate the new rates once again.
