Team India was recently announced for the T20 World Cup 2024. As expected, while good in-form players got a place in the team, there were some players who, despite good performance, did not get a place in the team. One name of that player is Rinku Singh. From fans to cricket experts, everyone believed that Rinku would be a part of Team India for the T20 World Cup.

But the Indian selectors gave a chance to Shivam Dubey before him and they have included Rinku Singh in the team as one of the four reserve players. Meanwhile, Rinku Singh’s father Khanchandra Singh said that he had brought sweets and crackers to celebrate his son’s selection, however, his son was not included in the team. Someone in his house was surprised to see this.

Rinku Singh Khanchandra Singh, his father, was quoted by News 24 as saying, “There were a lot of expectations, we had brought sweets, pakodas, thinking that he would play in the 11 (Indian T-20 World Cup squad). That’s why there is some sadness. He is heartbroken, he talked to his mother and told her that his name is not there.”

Let us tell you that left-handed batsman Rinku Singh has performed well for the Indian team in the recent past. Rinku has scored 356 runs in 15 T20 matches played for India so far. However, Rinku Singh was kept in reserve and in case of injury to any player in the team, he can be included in the final squad.
