Ruturaj Gaikwad is leading Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024. Under his leadership the team has performed well so far. The team has won four out of seven matches this season, while it has lost three. However, the captain’s bat performance has not been the kind that the team expected from him.

Gaikwad has scored 241 runs in seven matches at an average of 40.17 and strike rate of 130.27, which includes two half-centuries. Now recently, Ruturaj Gaikwad has openly spoken about the support he received from his family when he failed to perform.

In the video shared by Star Sports, Ruturaj Gaikwad says, “You need support from your family, when you play in your city, sometimes you are not able to score, not perform, and you need support from your family. It is asked about this thing that why did you not perform today? And I think from his side it never happened that he ever doubted my ability or he ever doubted my effort. So, I think in that sense I’m really grateful that they’ve been supporting me from the beginning.”

Chennai and Lucknow will face each other today

Talking about CSK team, today i.e. on 23rd April, it will face KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both the teams have faced each other once before in this tournament. Where Lucknow had registered victory.

Currently, five-time champion CSK is at fourth place in the points table with 8 points from seven matches. On the other hand, LSG is in fifth place with 8 points, but its run rate is low.
