Mohsin Khan has revealed that the former Indian captain has been his lifelong idol
Whenever India’s greatest captains are counted, MS Dhoni’s name comes at the first place. Under his leadership, Team India has won three different ICC trophies, which include the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy title in 2013. Apart from being a great captain, Dhoni is also known for his explosive batting.
He has played many explosive innings for India. Apart from this, he has also batted brilliantly in IPL. That’s why the bowlers start sweating while on their crease. Meanwhile, Indian bowler Mohsin Khan has revealed that the former Indian captain has been his lifelong idol.
Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Mohsin Khan opened up about his admiration for Dhoni and the impact the great wicketkeeper-batsman has had on his career. Recalling Dhoni’s match-winning six in the 2011 ODI World Cup final, he said that it is his favorite even today.
I am not able to talk in front – Mohsin Khan
Mohsin Khan said, “Dhoni bhai is my idol. “Those who hit sixes go last.” “I was just 13 or 14 years old at that time and was watching the final match. As soon as he hit a six, it seemed as if Diwali was being celebrated everywhere.”
When asked why he did not express his admiration to Dhoni, Mohsin admitted that he was too nervous to approach the legend. He said smilingly, “I become happy just by seeing them from a distance. I am not able to talk in front. But seeing them makes me happy.”
It is noteworthy that discussions are going on about MS Dhoni playing in the upcoming IPL. However, recently Dhoni has spoken about this in a program. According to ESPNcricinfo, Dhoni said at an event organized in Goa, I want to enjoy whatever cricket I have been able to play in my last few years.
