Seeing no improvement in the health of Indian-origin Ireland cricketer Simi Singh, he was brought to India for better treatment.
Simranjeet Singh aka Simi Singh, one of Ireland’s top all-rounders, is fighting for his life. Simi Singh was born in Mohali, India. The bad news is that he is seriously ill and is suffering from ‘acute liver failure’ at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Simi needs a liver transplant and his wife Agamdeep Kaur will be a liver donor for him.
How did Simi Singh’s health deteriorate?
For the last few months, Simi Singh was constantly complaining of fever, the exact cause of which could not be ascertained. Despite treatment in Dublin, there was no improvement in her health, after which she was brought to India for better treatment.
Simi arrived in India at the end of June and began treatment at the PGI in Chandigarh. She was initially treated for TB, but it later became clear that she did not have TB.
In the last week of August, Simi’s health deteriorated further and she developed severe jaundice. Doctors found that she had ‘liver failure’ and she was referred to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
Simi Singh’s treatment and liver transplant procedure, wife will become the donor
Doctors have approved Simi Singh’s wife Agamdeep Kaur to donate the liver, and Simi’s liver transplant will be done soon. Since Simi has AB+ blood group, they did not face any problem in finding a donor. Doctors are hopeful that this surgery will be successful and Simi will get a new life.
