While being the captain of Australia, Pat Cummins has so far won the Ashes Series, World Test Championship and ODI World Cup. But he has not yet been able to win the Border-Gavaskar Test series against India and the 31-year-old fast bowler wants to include this trophy in his cabinet by defeating India in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is starting from November 22 and the first match of the series will be played in Perth. Winning the Test series against India is a big thing. Pat Cummins wants to achieve this. The upcoming five-match Test series is going to be very exciting. Pat Cummins is yet to have the experience of winning a Test series against India, be it at home or away.

Australia has not won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the last 10 years. In such a situation, this is a sequence which the Australian captain wants to break on home soil this year. “It’s a big thing I want to accomplish,” Cummins told AAP on Tuesday. Especially winning at home. “Most Australians, including myself, expect us to perform well whenever we play at home.”
He further said, “We have lost the (last) two series against India (in Australia), so this is a big thing. We feel like our team is in really good shape, so we have no reason not to perform really well. I always hope that we perform well against whoever we play, but there is pressure to perform well against India. “That makes it a big year and a big season.”
Pat Cummins believes that there will be pressure on the Australian team. “I think whenever a team is under pressure, it is not a bad thing if you are playing against them, but they have played here before and done well. Our job is to keep them calm, see what we do.”
