Jake said that Ponting told him some things about his bat swing, which helped him a lot.
Jake Fraser-McGurk, speaking to the Willow Talk podcast, told:
“What Ponting said to me really stuck in my mind till now. He told that when I swing the ball at 80 percent instead of 100 percent, I hit the ball much further. All you have to do is connect the ball with the middle of the bat and the ball will go straight across the boundary for a six. I said, ‘Okay, that’s good advice,’ because my head shakes when I swing the bat hard.”
“I watched the footage of all the matches I played except the IPL and he is right, when I swing the bat very hard, my head is shaking while practicing on the ball. Ponting is a man who can catch these small things. It’s the little things that you don’t notice…his advice blew my mind.”
