Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) set a target of 174 runs against MI in an IPL 2024 league stage match in Mumbai on Monday, May 6. However, Rohit was out after scoring four runs in five balls. However, Suryakumar scored unbeaten 102 runs in just 51 balls to give victory to the host team with 16 balls to spare.
While watching Mumbai Indians chase the target in a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra admitted that Mumbai had lost three of their wickets very early. But Chopra was most worried about Rohit Sharma’s form.
Aakash Chopra said, “The new ball turned and Ishan Kishan was out. Marco Yansin dismissed him. Pat Cummins came and Rohit Sharma Was out. There is a huge difference between Rohit Sharma’s first six matches and his last five matches. He has been out in single digits in the last five and that is a real concern.”
The former India opener said, “To be honest, Rohit Sharma’s form is important for both Mumbai Indians and India. He got out and then Naman Dheer kept playing the dot ball. Bhuvneshwar Kumar got him out.”
Rohit tried to hit a big shot off Pat Cummins and was caught by Heinrich Klaasen behind the wicket. While Ishan Kishan managed to score nine runs off seven balls, Naman Dheer was out for zero off nine balls. However, after this there was a century partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma and due to this Mumbai was able to win the match easily.
