New Zealand has a lead of 40 runs over Australia at the end of the second day’s play.
The second match of the currently ongoing two-match Test series between New Zealand and Australia is being played at the Hagley Oval ground in Christchurch. Let us tell you that today on March 9, the second day of the game has ended, on which cricket fans are seen giving a special reaction.
To give you information about the day’s game, today Australia started playing at 124/4, and after adding 132 more runs in the innings, the Kangaroo team’s first innings was all out. For Australia, only Marnus Labuschagne could play the best innings of 90 runs in the first innings. Apart from this, no other player could score more runs. Although all the players got good starts, no one was able to convert it into a big score.
So, excellent bowling was seen from New Zealand, especially from Matt Henry. Henry dismissed 7 Australian players for 67 runs in 23 overs. Apart from this, captain Tim Southee, debutant Ben Seers and Glenn Phillips got one wicket each.
On the other hand, at the end of the day, New Zealand has scored 134 runs at the loss of 2 wickets after 50 overs in the second innings. Currently, Tom Latham is at the crease with 65* and Rachin Ravindra with 11*. The Kiwi team has taken a lead of 40 runs over Australia on the basis of first innings.
So till now Will Young 1 and Kane Williamson have returned to the pavilion after scoring 51 runs. So far, fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins have got one wicket each from Australia.
