UPCA may start work for renovation of the stadium very soon
Rajiv Shukla, Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and member of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has announced today, Monday, September 30, that the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur will soon be renovated. For this he has talked to the concerned officials.
It is noteworthy that the second match of the ongoing Test series between India and Bangladesh is being played in Kanpur. But due to rain and lack of modern facilities in the stadium, play on the second and third days of the match was ended without a single over being bowled.
After rain stopped play at the Green Park Stadium, there was a shortage of resources to restart the game as soon as possible. After this, BCCI got a lot of flak in the cricket world for holding test matches on the ground. But now the Apex Cricket Board is seen in action regarding the issue, and very soon cricket fans can see the renovation work at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
Rajiv Shukla gave a big statement
Let us tell you that on the sidelines of the ongoing second test match between India vs Bangladesh, Rajiv Shukla said – sometimes this happens. Although we all pray to Lord Indra that it does not rain, but, you know, it happens. And this happens all over the world, so why are Kanpur and Green Park being unnecessarily blamed for something which is in the hands of nature.
Shukla further said- Today I had a discussion with the administration about how we should develop such a system by which rain water can be absorbed immediately. Immediately after coming here (Green Park), I discussed with the officials and they are also unanimous. I think we will soon be able to improve the conditions here.
We will get some time to improve the condition of the ground and that work will be expedited. As soon as I came here, I had a long discussion with the government officials because this stadium belongs to the state government. We agree with them.
