The Indian cricket team sweated it out on the field in its first practice session before the white ball series against Sri Lanka. Gautam Gambhir started performing his duties a day after reaching Sri Lanka. The Indian team took part in its first practice session under the leadership of Gambhir. India is scheduled to play a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka from July 27, after which an equal number of ODI series will also be played.

Let us tell you that the Indian team will play under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav in T20, while Rohit Sharma will lead the team in ODIs. After becoming the head coach, Gambhir led the team during the training session and inspected the practice session. During this, the players did light practice which included fielding practice, running and ball catching practice. Let us tell you that during this practice session, Gautam Gambhir spent time with all-rounder Shivam Dubey on the field after talking to Sanju Samson who was practicing batting. Gambhir also gave some batting tips to Samson. It is known that Samson was a part of the 15-member Indian team of the T20 World Cup, but he did not get a chance to play a single match during the tournament.

Although Samson has been selected in the T20 squad, the team already has a wicketkeeper batsman in the form of Rishabh Pant. In such a situation, it is not clear whether the captain of Rajasthan Royals will be included in Team India’s playing eleven or not. It is very unfortunate that Samson made his T20 debut for India in 2015 at the age of only 20. In the last 9 years, he has been able to play only 28 matches for Team India.

Now it remains to be seen how many opportunities Sanju Samson gets on this tour of Sri Lanka. The first T20 match of the series between India and Sri Lanka will be played on 27 July.
